Are you an adult with a new autism diagnosis*?
Many adults find themselves experiencing a wide range of emotions when they receive an autism diagnosis. Relief, validation, and liberation are a few positive emotions. Some people also feel a range of anger, overwhelm, depression, and a big "let down" as their experiences in life start to fall into place and make more sense. And sometimes people feel all of these things at the same time.
Please feel free to join our free virtual support meeting for adults that are new to receiving an autism diagnosis. It's a safe place to ask questions, share experiences, or just listen in on what others have to share.
*Please note: We are aware there are many people that may be autistic and have not received a formal diagnosis, or tried to get a formal diagnosis and were told they are not autistic. We will not exclude you! If you are new to thinking you have autism, please consider joining us.

AUTISTIC ADULT
MEETING SCHEDULE:
The FIRST & THIRD MONDAY of the month from 6-7pm MST
Is this therapy?
Although the lead facilitator for these meetings is a clinical mental health counselor, this is not a therapy or counseling group, and should not take the place of counseling, mental health treatment, or a formal therapy group.
Is this group led by an autistic person?
We hope to find a variety of skilled, autistic professionals to facilitate this group. As we are at the beginning of this support group's creation, it is currently being led by a non-autistic counselor that has extensive experience, care, humility, and respect for the historical and current world that autistic people are living in.
We are also in direct and ongoing consultation with autistic counselors in order to ensure that we are doing our best to support, serve, and represent the most inclusive, non-ableist, strengths-based support for autistics of all ages and abilities.
If you are a skilled facilitator, coach, or mental health professional with autism, and are interested in volunteering to help facilitate this group, please contact us.
